FIRST POST IN 2014!

Helloooooo, my sweet cuppycakes! milkysmile

IT'S 2014!!! YIPPIE!!!

Well, I decided to list my favorite songs through 2013. I love listening to music and let's look up to my 2013 playlist!
  1. Katy Perry - Roar
"I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire, 'cause I am a champion and you're gonna hear me ROAR..."
I'm so in love with the lyrics because it tells me how a "coward-living-creature", who stood for nothing, but then turns into a "fierce-and-strong-creature". I have learned to fight back, to stand for my principal, that although now I am "zero" but I will be my own hero someday.
  2. Anna Kendrick - Cups (Pitch Perfect's When I'm Gone)
"When I'm gone, when I'm gone. You're gonna miss me when I'm gone. You're gonna miss me by my hair. You're gonna miss me everywhere, oh... You're gonna miss me when I'm gone..."
This song tells about a girl who got the tickets to travel to somewhere beautiful and wants a company to make everything seems prettier. But in fact, the one she expects to be with her is not there.
  3. Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball
"I came in like a wrecking ball. I never hit so hard in love. All I wanted was to break your walls. All you ever did was wreck me. Yeah, you, you wreck me..."Broken-heart-girl, being left... I totally give my heart on this song. Like I have loved someone with all my heart but in the end, he left me alone. PS: the music video of this song is gross so just download the mp3 one.
  4. P!nk ft. Nate Ruess - Just Give Me A Reason
"Just give me a reason. Just a little bit enough. Just a second, we're not broken just bent and we can learn to love again..."
Two people in love. A girl who over-thinks. Over-think sucks. She thinks that her relationship is on bad state, that her boyfriend doesn't care at all. But in fact, her boyfriend doesn't feel that way. They're all, in fact, just fine. They only need to talk it out, heart-to-heart.
  5. One Republic - Counting Stars
"Lately I been, I been losing sleep. Dreaming about the things that we could be. But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard. Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars. Yeah, we'll be counting stars..."
Well, actually I knew this song when I listened to the cover by LEDApple's Hanbyul. His cover is damn great! Click here to watch his cover. I don't really get the meaning of this song. I think this is about a guy who really misses his crush. I just love this song because of the melody.
  6. Lana Del Rey - Young and Beautiful
"Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? Will you still love me when I got nothing but my aching soul? I know you will, I know you will, I know that you will. Will you still love me when I'm no longer beautiful?"
Will someone still love me when I have crinkles? Someone who will still keep me by his side until the end of the time? I doubt that...
  7. Selena Gomez - Slow Down
"I just wanna feel your body right next to mine, all night long, baby, slow down the song. And when it's coming closer to the end hit "Rewind". All night long, baby, slow down the song..."
It's not about the lyrics, but when it comes to dancing-by-myself time, this song is top of my favorites!
  8. Madilyn Bailey - When You Were My Man
"It all just sounds like oooooh... Mmm, too young, too dumb to realize that you should have bought me flowers and held my hand. Should have gave me all your hours when you had the chance. Take me to every party cause all I wanted to do was dance. But now baby I’m dancing, but I’m dancing with another man..."
The originally sung by Bruno Mars and the title is When I Was Your Man. But I am a girl and of course I listen to the female version. So this song is a confession about a woman to her ex to make him realize that now she got a new guy who will treat her better, and that her ex should have regretted to let go a woman like her.
  9. Demi Lovato - Heart Attack
"Puttin’ my defenses up ‘cause I don’t wanna fall in love. If I ever did that, I think I’d have a heart attack..."
A girl who didn't want to fall in love so she just held her heart back. But one day she met a guy who changed everything. That guy made her nervous but still she didn't want to admit that she has fallen in love.
  10. Carly Rae Jepsen - Tonight I'm Getting Over You
"We're not lovers, but more than friends. Put a flame to every single word you ever said. No more crying to get me through. I'll keep dancing till the morning with somebody new. Tonight I'm getting over you. Tonight I'm getting over you. Tonight I'm getting over you. Tonight I'm getting over you. Over you, over you..."
Not a friend not a lover thingy is maddening us, isn't it? So just let them go and look for somebody who wants to commit in a relationship, WITH YOU!
So, I think it's 10 of my favorite songs through 2013. I can't wait for another upcoming songs in 2014!!!milkysmile

HAPPY NEW YEAR

So goodbye 2013. Welcome 2014!

I just come back from a dinner night at Orchard Hotel with my auntie and her bf. Sooo damn tired but I don't want to sleep yet. I really want to wait until midnight and say HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! It sucks that I end this year alone in front of my desktop without someone's special. I still remember clearly what he whispered to me on the last year's midnight. "I hope we could be like this next year..." But turned out we couldn't make it.

I just made my New Year's resolution and you can see it here

Today is the last day of 2013.

We have walked through 364 days in joy and tears, with happiness and sorrow. Leave the bad memories and pains all behind. Don't keep it with you while you're jumping into the new year. List your new year's resolution and make it happens! Eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, get enough sleep, stop drinking alcohol.
Let 2014 be your year! Let yourself shine through all the year! God bless you

Obsession

You are the only one I have
No one could ever take your place
No matter how hard I try
I can't find anyone to replace you

I hold on tightly so you can't leave
I grab onto you so I won't have to cry
No matter how many times
You throw me away

Even if you walk ahead for a little while
I will follow you
I will protect you
So you can't forget me easily

I can't escape from this trap
Because I have fallen too deep

MY THOUGHT ON BEAUTY PAGEANT

So, there's this contest in my city called "Gege Meimei" (哥哥妹妹). It's kind of beauty pageant but there will be a pair of winner in this contest. There will be one guy (哥哥) and one girl (妹妹). I don't know how to address this contest so I just call it beauty pageant because "brain, beauty, behavior" is judged here. "Gege Meimei" (哥哥妹妹) is a community here at my region which aims to introduce Tionghua culture. I just voted for some candidates and most of them look great.

Yesterday, my friend asked me why I didn't join this contest. It didn't take so long for me to answer, "I'm not ready yet." YES, I'm not ready at all for this kind of contest. People keep saying that if you keep waiting, you'll never be ready. But I'm quite sure that I will be ready, someday. I have some thoughts on this contest, where "brain, beauty, behavior" is judged here.

First, I need to have extensive knowledge, not only in general, but in specific way, especially about my own region, West Borneo. I need to understand my own culture and have the ability to introduce it to public. It's not that easy to persuade people to put interest on our culture. If we're bad in presenting our culture, it will end up promiscuous and people won't even look at our culture. That's why I have a little worries on it.

Second, I have to look good, physically good. Beauty plays big role in this kind of contest. When you're presenting something, people will look at your presentable physical appearance first, before getting into what you will talking about. I believe that every girl is beautiful, with or without makeup. However, I feel not really confident being compared with other girls. You may see me beautiful, but honestly I don't feel beautiful enough. I'm a perfectionist. People judge me based on this trait. "Nobody's perfect." YES I KNOW. But at least I will try my best to cover what I lack of. Until now, I still can't find way to hide it. My height is 5'18" which is considered normal for my age, but I'm not really confident with fats all over my body. I mean, my thigh touches each other, and I don't have flat stomach, and yeah, I'm 59 kilograms, almost 60! I'm very desperate with this number, although some of my friends try to cheer me up by saying "it's only a number, dear!" but. it's. almost. sixty! Who the hell wants to see a 60 kilograms girl walking on stage? Well, society sucks now, but we can't blame them. Everyone loves to see beautiful tall skinny lady. That's why I have a big worries on it.

And the third, behavior. I don't really have much worries on this. Because I think I behave well all over my life. I respect elders. I almost always be there for everyone. I'm not trying to gain attention - or I'm not an attention seeker. But sometimes I just feel lonely and I don't speak up my problems. I'm just afraid it will disturb my daily activity in that community. I mean, not everyone is going to like you. I'm the person who is easily disturbed by someone who doesn't like me. Because I have the thought of making people to like me. When I know someone is hating me and spreading hatred or bad gossips about me, it will upset me and I will be like "Okay, I'm going to sit here and think of it" I know, I know, it's not a positive way to respond on this case. And yeah, I will just keep them by myself and it will explode someday in my life. So I'm afraid to make everyone upsets with this situation.

I want to work on those three things before I walk to the stage. I want to be the person who makes my rivals doubt their own self-qualities. I don't want to be on stage while I'm not ready. It will just make me ashamed to walk on the stage with no quality. I think the candidates for this contest have already passed the standard. And everyone seems good-looking, smart, and kind. So, I just wish a very good luck for the candidates and whoever win in the end, I hope you can work on your part well.

ALONE - CELINE DION

I hear the ticking of the clock
I'm lying here the room's pitch dark
I wonder where you are tonight
No answer on the telephone
And the night goes by so very slow
Oh I hope that it won't end though
Alone...

Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone

You don't know how long I have wanted
To touch your lips and hold you tight
You don't know how long I have waited
And I was going to tell you tonight
But the secret is still my own
And my love for you is still unknown
Alone...

I AM A SENIOR!!!

I've been waiting for this moment. Ahem, music please.

I DECLARE MYSELF AS A SENIOR.

Well, you may think it's just unimportant stuff but for me, it's the year where I sit on the highest level of high school and the juniors will be like nodding with respect and something like that. But the main thing is, I only got 1 semester of intensive study! And the next semester would be filled by TO and those unwanted stuffs. Don't you think it's unfair that your hardwork for three years is just decided by some kinds of test which only take four days of your life? IT'S UNFAIR! BUT fortunately, the government reconsidered this kind of 'wasting time and money thing' and decided that the passing requirements is 60% determined by the school.

For me have been standing here as a senior, I think time passes really quickly. I just remember entering the school main gate with my super childish style and now I've been in my third year and I do look mature. I have a boyfriend already! And in some kind of time I will go to the university and do part-time job and then sign the contract which will take about 7 years (the longest period). And I hope I could take the graduate program. It's very needed. The higher degree you got, the job will be easier to get. Many people think pessimistically about degrees. "You won't get job in Indonesia. They won't appreciate your hardwork."

YES I DO KNOW IT SO WELL!

But why don't we take the chance? People need someone with higher ability and working experience in their company! Those words above are only for people who lack of confidence and think they've failed to reach the success.

Well, I'll catch up with you guys soon. Byebye. xx

Always Remember Me (Poem)

Your gentle touch
The warmth of your embrace
The passion of your kiss
Precious times that felt ever so divine

I thought that they would never leave
But...
Even though I can't reach you anymore
I can't open my eyes to find you there
I'll always have my memories

Though they are not as warm as the hands
That always made me feel so safe
I know they will never disappear as you know have

My beloved,
My heart is forever yours
Even if you're lost
Beyond where my trembling voice can reach you

Even if your memories fade
Or disappear into the darkness
I'll never forget the precious times
When we faced the world together

My beloved,
For today, for tomorrow,
For the days that may never return,
Never forget the words we once exchanged...
"I love you..."

BUSY WEEK

This week is heavier than another week. We could have test and homework in each subjects! I got 98, it's nearly perfect for Mandarin test. The teacher was just so fishy to give me 100. I got the tone wrong in this word - zen me. It's in 3rd tone yet I wrote 2nd tone. We also got the surprise test on Physics which drove my class crazy because we knew very little about it (the bright students have their own story for this).
We also had 'mixed conditional' for our English test and everyone seemed not understand any of it. I just couldn't help it that I wrote a little note for my English teacher, telling him how difficult to understand 'mixed conditional'.
Just want to say Adios to school...

GIRLS' GENERATION - HAVE THEY GONE THROUGH PLASTIC SURGERY?

Plastic surgery is a medical specialty concerned with the correction or restoration of form and function. Though cosmetic or aesthetic surgery is the best-known kind of plastic surgery, most plastic surgery is not cosmetic; plastic surgery includes many types of reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, and the treatment of burns. -Wikipedia (2013)

Girls' Generation. Who doesn't know this girl group from South Korea? Their charming personality, great talents, gorgeous face and perfect body always impress most of people who watch them for the first time. I knew this girl group when I was 14. They were still promoting Genie (Tell Me Your Wish). And now, after 3 years passed, I saw them in different way. I mean they all look greater and more stunning than before. People improve themselves actually. But some of people just don't want to accept it. Judging them for doing plastic surgery to get the look they have now. So guys, are you sure they did surgery before? I'm not here to do debate or judge or something like you guys do.

Plastic surgery. In South Korea, plastic surgery has been so popular for teenagers' and adults'. Even the teenagers get plastic surgery for the reward of their graduation day. South Korea has been the capital of plastic surgery and tops the global plastic surgery chart. South Korean will not be surprised to know that someone who sits beside them has undergone surgery because it's been a custom there for having plastic surgery.

People began to JUDGE the South Korean celebrities for having plastic surgery. Well, people. Let's have a little talk here. I will separate the topic for the fans and the haters.

For the fans: Why do you love that group? Are you in love by their looks or their talents? What will you do if you find out that they actually look ugly behind the makeups and photoshop?
I love Girls' Generation because: First, they look so lovely - right now, today, for this moment. I don't care about their past, how they look so ugly like witch or how they look so fat like cow. In fact, they look pretty like fairy and gorgeous like Barbie! Who cares about past? Well, some people do care and they're just like wasting their time on it. Blah. Second, they have super awesome talents. They can sing and dance very well at the same time. They can act in dramas. They're good in reality shows. They play instruments. Each of them is wonderful. Just wonderful! Today, in this era of photoshop and super crazy makeover, we can't blame them for having (sorry) ugly face under those makeup layer (I mean if they really do look ugly). But we have seen so much pictures of them who still look as same as when they wear the makeup. There are makeups for brightening face, widening eyes, sharpening jaws and chin, makeups are just AMAZING! It creates something astonishing for someone who wears them. I wear makeup now - wherever I go, and I do admit that I look very different with me who don't wear it. Photoshop - I began to learn photoshop at my school and I just knew that we can edit an ugly duck to beautiful swan with only photoshop! And yes, the pictures you guys are talking are from the past. Of course it looks so old-style and ugly. People surely develop their looks by changing hairstyle or wearing makeups and contact lens. Think smart, baby.
If they truly did surgery before, then what? At least they're pretty now and they have super great talents! They work very hard to have that perfect body lines. Yuri spends most of her time to do sit-ups!

For the haters: Why do you hate them? Do you hate them for the 'fact' you got that they have done plastic surgery? Then why do you hate them just because of that unrevealed fact?
I know the haters will respond, "Why can't I hate them?" And I will ask you, "Why can't you shut your mouth and stop spreading hatred to the people who don't even know Girls' Generation yet? You're just like teaching a baby who know nothing to hate someone they don't even recognize!" Guys. I know there are a lot of articles on internet saying that they have done this on their eyes, nose, chin, jaws, boobs, butts, even the navel. But why can't you just THINK with your clear mind that internet can be WRONG? There are so many people spreading news and gossips about someone or something which they think it's true but probably it's wrong or it's just unrevealed. The gossip is just like when you see a crocodile under water but you're not sure about it and then you tell people that you found a crocodile under the water. It might be crocodile but it also can be only a branch! It's just an unrevealed fact, guys!
If you hate them because they look pretty, oh my goodness! You're just envy, to be honest. Totally envy. There are no more reasons for people who hate someone for their beauty besides people who are ENVY. Prove me wrong if you think you're right. They're pretty now. Why should you bring the past? I admit they look uglier at the past but they're beautiful now. NOW NOW NOW.

The point is, we cannot tell them whether they have done surgery or not. But let's just don't bash each other. I mean don't judge someone by your opinion or what you've just read on internet because no one actually knows. They are like the crocodile and somehow it will be revealed someday.
If you hate them, just keep it by yourself. Don't bash them and act like you're the one who knows the best of them. If you act like that, we can see that you're a fan who doesn't realize that you actually love them, A LOT. If you love them, just let it flow. Don't attack the haters back. Just let them think with their mind. And I hope this short message or essay or whatever you guys want it to be called, can help you to think clearly - fans or haters.

PS: Just keep loving these talented and beautiful girls! They are deserved to get a lot of love and supports because they have done their best and proves us that they worth our attentions!

With lots of love,
Septrani Lim (SONE since 2010)

WORDS COMPETITION 2013 IN JAKARTA

I was in Jakarta about 4 days ago and had a lot of fun with the students from all over Indonesia. It was so nice to meet people with unique and different cultures with us. I also met some great ETAs there. Although I didn't win the competition, I have gotten so much fun and experiences through this event. So, I'm gonna tell you guys what I had from the first until last day in Jakarta.

Day 1 (March 15):
I went to Jakarta with my ETA, Choumika Simonis. We arrived at about 11 AM and checked in at Gran Melia hotel. It was the best hotel I have ever visited!

Super big LCD TV

The cozy bathroom
Here's the bed

I went for lunch with the ETAs (Choumika, Sarah, MayMay) and 2 other students (Gerald and Novia). We had nasi padang which was so expensive I think. It's 35 for each person! I can get 2 plates here in Pontianak. After lunch, Choumika and I went to buy groceries at Carefour for my performance.

We went for dinner in Mutiara Ballroom at night. The foods are just sooooo damn great! I had lasagna and smoked salmon. The desserts are also great! And you know what, the ambassador of US (with his wife) and the founder of AMINEF sat in a table with me! It's been an honor to sit with them. We took picture and shared lot of thoughts about US and the scholarship.

Day 2 (March 16):
THE COMPETITION DAY! I talked too fast for my speech that maybe they didn't get what I mean. I was so nervous and I didn't know why I couldn't control myself. I met a lot of friends that day (Farly the singer, Alvin the beatboxer, Berry the adviser and Ziah the noisy girl)
We went for bowling at night. It was my first time and I got myself addicted to bowling! I really look forward to do it again!

So here's me and Choumika at JBC (Jakarta Bowling Center)

Day 3 (March 17):
Tour Jakarta. I had Western and Japanese cuisines for breakfast today.
Sushi and smoked salmon

Beans, bacon, sausages, plain pizza and croissant

I did eat a lot, of course. I didn't want to miss the chance to try all the foods there! FREE FOODS!!! lol
So we went to Sea World, Museum Fatahilah, then Monas. I didn't take many pictures because my phone was dead.

With what-is-it-called?
SO BIG!!!

We had farewell party at the night. We made videos of Harlem Shake and also the messages for the next generation of WORDS competition.

Day 4 (March 18):
I got back to Pontianak. I had a very terrible dizziness and feeling of throwing up. I didn't know what happened to me. I was just like drunk until now. I'm typing but I still feel so 'drunk'.

This was a very wonderful experience. Meeting new friends from other places, sharing thoughts with the US ambassador, having great breakfasts, cozy hotel for sleep, funny yet cool ETAs. I will not forget it! And I will always miss you guys! See you next time!

AFTER A WHILE

After a while you learn
The subtle difference between
Holding a hand and chaining a soul
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't always mean security.

And you begin to learn
That kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes ahead
With the grace of a woman
Not the grief of a child.

And you learn
To build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is
Too uncertain for plans
And future have a way
Of falling down in mid flight.

After a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much
So you plant your own garden
And decorate your own soul
Instead of waiting
For someone to bring you flowers.

And you learn
That you really can endure
That you are really strong
And you really do have worth
And you learn and you learn
With every goodbye you learn.

Before You Die

Name ten things you want to do before you die and then go do them. Name ten places you really want to be before you die and then go to them. Name ten books you want to read before you die and then go read them. Name ten songs you want to hear before you die, get all your friends together and scream them.

Because right now all you have is time time time, but someday that time will run out. That's the only thing you can be absolutely certain about.

Think of all things that are wrong with your life and then fix them. Think of all things that you love about your life, be thankful you're blessed with them. Think of all the things you hold back and realize that you don't need them. Think of all the mistakes you've made in your life, make sure that you never repeat them.

Name ten thousand reasons why you never want to die, go and tell someone who might have forgotten. Try to list the endless reasons why it's good to be alive, and then just smile for awhile about them.

Our New Babies! BILBO & MIKU! (ʃƪ ˘ ³˘)

So, I finally got two cute little babies here! We bought them yesterday. They are campbell dwarf hamster. I named them Bilbo after Bilbo Baggins because it's the most epic name ever. The one named Miku after Hatsune Miku. The name is given by Niki, my boyfriend's sister.
So, Bilbo is very active and naughty. He makes so much noise. While Miku is more passive and lazy. She just eats and sleeps all day long.

You can see their cute videos here

"Look at them! They're still together?"

I'm back and I'm going to talk about R-E-L-A-T-I-O-N-S-H-I-P today...

People tend to ask, "They're still together?" when a couple has been in a relationship for 3 months or more. It's like something amazing happened when it comes for couple who is still together in 3 months. 3 months are such a very short period, guys! I've been asked by some of my friends:

  1. You guys are still together? How come?
  2. Are you guys never be in fight?
  3. How could you guys last this long?

And I will just answered, "This is just a beginning. 3 months are too short for us to know each other! And alright, we've been in fight, dramatic and tragic story. But we survived!"
Teens these days are difficult to survive those dramas in their relationship. They tend to give up, stop fighting for the one they love, and move on. Forgetting that they used to love each other and don't want to let each other go. So I'm here for giving you some advice when you both are fighting (hope it'll work for you guys):
  • Communication. When you find yourself uncomfortable in some point of your relationship, go talk to them. Tell them what you feel. I found out that it's difficult for some couples, but if you want to survive the dramas, you have to THROW OUT what inside you!
  • Forget the past. You cannot bring up the past in the fight. I mean if they did something and you've forgiven them, it just seems not right to spoil those mistakes out from your mouth again. It will hurt them.
  • Say sorry and mean it. Don't say "I'm sorry" easily and do the same thing tomorrow morning. Say it when you really feel you've hurt them and want to change.
  • Don't yell. Don't hit. If you're the guy and you hit your girl, kiss my ass. Girl, you don't deserve a man like him. Just leave him. And girls, please don't yell. Your boyfriend isn't deaf.
  • When it comes to the girls who cry when both of you're fighting, the guys only need to stay there and keep silent until the girls stop crying. After that, you can talk to her about your problem.
I only get a few advice for you. Sorry >.< Actually me and Andrian seldom be in a fight, but when we fight, it will be him who got angry, and me who will cry like baby LOL~ But we don't need a long time to get together. It only lasts 3 hours, if I'm not wrong. Relationship without fights is just sooooo boring, dear. I mean, if we fight, we'll get to know the sides of them. The sides that slowly will be uncovered in your relationship...
